A free online course on how to support sexual recovery after trauma.

Sexual health is not a luxury, but an important part of rehabilitation after the war. That’s why, within the framework of the national network of rehabilitation centersRECOVERY, founded by Viktor and Olena Pinchuk to support Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, and in cooperation with the Diia.Education platform, we created a unique video course“Sexual Rehabilitation”, adapted for first-contact specialists: nurses, rehabilitation therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and everyone who works with military personnel, veterans, and people recovering from injuries.

What is the course about?

10 short and practical modules created by international and Ukrainian experts that provide basic knowledge on sexual recovery. No unnecessary theory — only what is essential: how to talk about sexuality, what advice to give, and how to refer someone to a specialized professional.

Course goal:
To reduce the taboo around the topic, provide a clear action plan for specialists, and expand support opportunities within rehabilitation programs.

Trainers:

  • Katherine Ellis (USA) — PhD, professional therapist and certified sexuality consultant (Institute for Sexuality, Intimacy & Professional Therapy). Author of certification programs for professionals and numerous interdisciplinary trainings at national and international levels. Lectures for rehabilitation teams in Ukraine, co-editor of the textbook “Sexuality and Intimacy: A Professional Therapy Perspective”, and co-editor of the sexuality workbook “Let’s Talk About It: Your Guide to Sex & Intimacy” (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs).
  • Borys M. Vornik (Ukraine) — leading Ukrainian sexologist, MD, professor of sexology and medical psychology. Honored physician of Ukraine, top-level sexopathologist. Member of the European Federation of Sexologists and international expert in sexual and reproductive health.
  • Sviatoslava Fedorets (Ukraine) — sexologist, psychologist, forensic expert, specializing in sexual rehabilitation for military personnel, veterans, and civilians with disabilities.
  • Yulia Yaroshenko (Ukraine) — sexologist, Master of Public Health, founder of S.E.X prostir — a science-popular conference in Public Talk style, school of sexual development for adults Sensual Culture, author of the Telegram channel Sexual Culture.

The course is free, self-paced, and requires no specialized prior training.
